Evaluated how the aging of Millennials will influence consumer demand overall and spending in specific categories over the next five to 10 years. Used the results to draw conclusions about which retail sectors and public companies will benefit from or be harmed most by each major trend.
Housing Demand
Researched how the availability of sub-prime and alt-A mortgages affected housing turnover. Measured how much current housing demand was inflated or depressed compared to normalized levels. Used the results to make a timely bullish call on home improvement retail stocks after the market collapse.
Stimulus Impact
Analyzed the impact of government stimulus programs on consumer spending. Estimated which segments of the U.S. population benefited, and by how much, from each program. Used the results to identify which retailers would experience the biggest temporary lift to sales and differentiate between winners and losers.
